“Every child, no matter where they are born or what challenges they face, deserves safety, education, and a voice. Refugee children, like all children, have the right to be seen, heard, and protected. Together, we must defend human rights,

Yeasor Arfat

Yeasor Arfat (17) is a Rohingya youth activist forced to flee Myanmar in 2017 after a violent military crackdown. Growing up in a refugee camp in Bangladesh, he was denied basic rights—education, safety, identity, and freedom of expression—but chose to turn his pain into purpose.

Yeasor founded the Rohingya Youth Empowerment Network (RYEN), a youth-led platform that empowers Rohingya children through advocacy, awareness, and leadership initiatives. As a young journalist and writer, he documents real stories of refugee children facing trafficking, child labor, early marriage, and lack of education, bringing global attention to their struggles. He also campaigns against child trafficking and exploitation, educating families and youth about the risks of kidnapping and how to stay safe. Beyond this, he actively supports the most vulnerable children in his community, including those with disabilities, orphans, and children from widow-led or extremely poor families.

Through strategic use of platforms like LinkedIn, Yeasor connects with youth leaders, NGOs, and international advocates, using his writing on children’s rights and refugee protection to amplify the voices of Rohingya children on a global stage.
