The partnership between MJAS and KidsRights focuses on fostering leadership qualities in children. The project aims to give kids the confidence and motivation they need to face life’s challenges head-on. The project has seen three meetings between the project mentors and the changemakers, which have helped in monitoring the project’s development and identifying areas that require specialized assistance.
Both mentors and changemakers have given the Partner Program high marks. One of the things that excites the changemakers the most is the fact that they get to work on a subject of their choice. They can bring up concerns they believe need to be addressed in their community. Among the 100 changemakers with whom mentors have met, the most frequent topics have been child marriage, plastic bag use, garbage problems, and education.
Child marriage remains a major issue in India. According to UNICEF, India has the highest number of child brides in the world. MJAS and KidsRights recognize the importance of addressing this issue and have empowered changemakers to take action. The changemakers have been working on creating awareness and advocating for the prevention of child marriages in their communities.
The use of plastic bags has also been a concern for changemakers. Plastic bags are a significant source of pollution and harm to the environment. The changemakers have been working on creating awareness about the negative effects of plastic bags and advocating for their responsible disposal.
Garbage problems are another major concern for changemakers. Improper garbage disposal can lead to health and environmental hazards. The changemakers have been working on creating awareness about the proper disposal of garbage and advocating for their communities to maintain clean and healthy environments.
Finally, education is a fundamental right that every child should have access to. Unfortunately, in many parts of India, children do not have access to quality education. The changemakers have been working on creating awareness about the importance of education and advocating for their communities to provide quality education to every child.
In conclusion, the partnership between MJAS and KidsRights has been instrumental in empowering young changemakers in India. By providing them with the tools they need to become future leaders, the project is helping to bring about significant change in their communities. The project’s success is a testament to the power of collaboration, passion, and commitment to effecting change.
