The world’s most prestigious youth award, launched by KidsRights in 2005 during the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, is presented annually to a child who has shown exceptional dedication and courage in fighting for children’s rights. Last year, inspiring Japanese teenager Rena Kawasaki (17) won the International Children’s Peace Prize for her pioneering work to increase child participation in politics in Japan.
All nominations for the International Children’s Peace Prize are reviewed by the Expert Committee. The Expert Committee is responsible for assessing the nominations and determining the winner of the 2023 International Children’s Peace Prize.
You can view and share some of the nominee’s inspiring and encouraging stories on our website and across our social media channels.
The three finalists will be announced mid-October.
This year, the award ceremony for the winner of the 2023 International Children’s Peace Prize will take place in London for the first time. On Nov. 17 at Whitehall Palace, the International Children’s Peace Prize will be awarded for the 19th time.
To ensure as many people as possible can join the ceremony, it will be live-streamed worldwide.
