Twinkl, as an international educational platform, shares the same values as KidsRights in aiming to create a world where all children have their rights guaranteed and are enabled to realize their great potential.

The common goal of the partnership is to amplify the impact of KidsRights in Italy, increasing children’s awareness of important social issues. Twinkl and KidsRights intend to support Italian teachers in inspiring today’s children to create real change and impact, all over the world.

The educational resources, are free to be accessed from Twinkl’s educational platform from June 20th onwards, with more material yet to come in the upcoming weeks.

On this topic, KidsRights is doing so much more! On 14th June 2022, KidsRights’ founder, Marc Dullaert, and the boys from the documentary “Shadow Game” went to the European Parliament for the screening of the multi-award-winning documentary, which follows the journey of several young refugees travelling alone through Europe, showing first-hand the struggles they faced at the borders.

We want to reinforce the message that all children on the move deserve protection. This follows the resolution which was adopted in April by the European Parliament on the protection of Ukrainian refugee children who must be given safe passage from Ukraine to the EU. Sadly, the other 22.000 refugee children on the borders of Europe (source: UNICEF) do not receive such a reception.

“The European Commission should be held responsible for the discrimination occurring at the borders of Europe.”- Marc Dullaert, KidsRights’ founder

38.000 signatures to Protect Children on the Move
We then handed over a petition with more than 38.000 signatures on the manifesto “Protect children on the move”. The manifesto calls for a safe passage for children on the move through Europe, meaning no more violence at the borders and better support for unaccompanied minors. Although the Shadow Game project is making great progress, there is still much more to be done. You can help by signing the petition here.

International project for schools: Living Together in Peace
Twinkl is also committed to create and support projects for world peace. The international school project “Living Together in Peace” has opened a global discussion in schools on the importance of preserving peace in the world. Over 400 children from different countries participated by sending messages of hope and solidarity to children who live, or have lived, in conflict zones. Find the children’s submissions below or here.
