Intern International Children’s Peace Prize

KidsRights has been working with children since 2003 to build a world where children’s rights are rooted in society. KidsRights provides a platform for children and youth to have their voices heard and empowers them to develop into positive and resilient changemakers. Since KidsRights was founded, the organization has worked actively and innovatively to put children’s rights on global and regional agendas.  As a result, KidsRights has developed into an international children’s rights organization with impactful and unique programs, such as the International Children’s Peace Prize, the KidsRights Index and State of Youth/Changemakers. 

Around the world, there are many talented young people with promising initiatives. KidsRights believes that all children who want to make a change in their journey for better children’s rights, should be recognized and supported.  

We are looking for an intern for the International Children’s Peace Prize. 

What will you do? 

The International Children’s Peace Prize (ICPP) is awarded annually to a child who fights courageously for children’s rights. The world’s most prestigious youth prize was launched by KidsRights during the 2005 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates at the Capitol in Rome, chaired by Mikhail Gorbachev. Since then, the prize has been presented every year by a Nobel Peace Laureate. We are honoured to have 19 winners from 17 different countries, on 5 different continents. The ceremony will be held in November. Currently, we are receiving nominations from around the world.  

Tasks: 

• Assist in implementing the nomination strategy (20%) 
• Review and summarize all the nominations (25%) 
• Coordinate with nominators for additional information (10%) 
• Support the social media campaigns (15%) 
• Support in other organizational tasks (10%) 
• Support in the preparation of the ICPP ceremony (20%). 

All activities are variable and depend on the project needs and your technical level.  

Requirements  

• Academic background in the field of: Human/child rights, international development, business administration or a related field; 
• Strong communication skills, including excellent (spoken and written) English; 
• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to multitask, plan ahead and keep track of tasks; 
• Command of a proactive work ethic, working well both individually and collaboratively; 
• Previous experience in managing social media platforms will be considered an advantageous asset. 

You will be guided by the Program Manager who will address your questions and guide your progress. The work is mostly done in our office in the centre of Amsterdam. However, there is the possibility to work from home.
