Azora Islam and Raksan Kader

One step at a time towards revolution. Together we shall ignite potential and transform future.

Azora Islam and Raksan Kader

Azora Islam (16) and Raksan Kader (16) are from Bangladesh. Azora and Raksan grew up seeing how limited opportunities can shape a child’s future. They believe change starts with children, especially those who have been left with the fewest opportunities. Driven by a passion for education and youth advocacy, they began working directly with young people across Dhaka.

Together, they went from one slum to another, visiting five communities to encourage young people, especially girls, to return to school and learn about their basic rights. They also raise funds through charity and funding competitions to support children’s education.

Their work goes beyond the classroom. Over the past year, they have supported five young girls with vocational skills such as sewing, cooking and computer skills, helping them build skills for a better livelihood. Every week, they also visit 12 schools around Dhaka to lead workshops on children’s rights, sanitation and becoming a global citizen.

With support from their families, Azora and Raksan are turning a big dream into action: creating more opportunities for children to learn, grow and shape their own future.
