Danae Amboh Yesobong Ebile

Every child deserves the chance to learn, heal, and thrive. By uniting to protect their right to education, health, and safety, we can turn hardship into hope and help every child build a brighter future

Danae Amboh Yesobong Ebile

Danae Ebile (14), is from Cameroon. Growing up in Bamenda, Cameroon, Danae has lived through ten years of the Anglophone crisis, a conflict that has closed schools and stolen stability from hundreds of thousands of children. Yet even without a classroom, her dream of becoming a doctor never faded.

Danae turned her own hardship into action. She provided school supplies to children in displacement camps and orphanages, and spoke in churches and schools about mental health and the importance of education, encouraging these communities to talk openly about children’s rights. She engaged her peers in conversations about how the crisis affects children’s health and well-being, inspiring others to join the movement for change.

The impact is spreading: communities are talking more openly about trauma, and local leaders are showing new interest in creating support groups and counselling services. Schools are slowly reopening, and more young people are motivated to return to their education. Speaking regularly in churches, orphanages, and displacement camps to crowds of 20 to 100 people, Danae is helping raise a generation of confident young advocates for peace, education, and child welfare.
