A child’s dream is not a luxury. it is their identity and their final frontier of survival,to crush it is to extinguish a life, but to protect it with integrity is to build global peace.
Fanouris (16), is from Greece. Fanouris’s drive comes from watching rigid institutions ignore children’s ideas simply because of their age or “status.” Rather than accept that, he set out to dismantle those barriers himself, proving that children don’t need permission to lead.
In a powerful act of integrity, Fanouris donated his entire personal savings, €100, to “The Smile of the Child” during a public regional event, showing that meaningful change starts with personal sacrifice, not just words. He then took his advocacy to the highest level, addressing the Hellenic Parliament on February 5th, where he challenged leaders to move past rhetoric and take real action to protect adolescent mental health.
His impact has reached a national scale: as the winner of the “Integrity Leaders of Tomorrow” competition by Greece’s National Transparency Authority, his message reached thousands of students across the country through official government channels. Working largely on his own, Fanouris has shown that one determined young person can challenge powerful institutions and get their voice heard where it matters most.
