Abdul was elected speaker of Isiolo County Children Assembly in 2018. Since his election, Abdul has made immense contribution in matters such as child protection, education and advocacy. In his speech during the 2018 Day of the African Child, Abdul has advocated for adequate infrastructure in schools. To date, the Qoticha Primary school has received 2 classrooms from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and 2 classrooms from World Vision Kenya. On child protection matters, Abdul has educated many of his fellow children to report abuses of child rights. He also organized a trip to Sericho, a remote town, which records poor academic performance coupled with the highest number of child marriages in the sub-county. He is motivated to establish children ambassadors who will educate and help reporting child marriage cases.
