Ankitha is raised in a society where she has seen a lot of rights violations and less encouragement for children for participation. Ankitha started the project WE GROW TOGETHER implementing youth engaging activities, campaigns, workshops on skill development, awareness programs, and projects aiming that all children should deserve equality, despite their difference. She started the campaign #WeTheChildrenWeHaveRights to make children realize their rights and government to include children’s right education in the school curriculum. She hosted online workshops on children’s rights, women’s rights, gender inequality, adolescent mental health to create awareness on children’s rights. Ankitha’s main focus is on children’s rights education, so the project aims at teaching and learning about the provisions and principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. She wants to further expand her organisation, ask the government to make a new policy and add children’s right education in the curriculum, invite youth ambassadors and train them, create documentation to build capacity, convince schools to adopt human rights education.
