Annie, a 17-year-old from Australia, is a passionate advocate for children’s economic rights and education. Growing up in rural China and later moving to Australia, she witnessed the impact of poverty and educational inequity on children’s potential. Motivated by these experiences, Annie founded MoneyWise, a youth-led initiative that provides free financial literacy workshops to marginalized students. She also authored Money Made Simple, a children’s guide to financial literacy distributed in schools and libraries, and launched the Brighter Futures Youth Podcast to share career and financial advice. Annie’s work is rooted in the belief that education and financial empowerment are fundamental rights that every child deserves.
Annie’s impact spans both online and offline initiatives. Through MoneyWise, she has delivered over 120 workshops reaching more than 1,400 students in under-resourced Australian schools, trained 50+ teachers to sustain the program, and mentored volunteers to expand the initiative. Her podcast has 15,000+ listeners across 20+ countries, and her online resources engage thousands more with practical financial skills. Through advocacy with VicSRC, she has influenced school policies to integrate financial literacy into curricula, providing long-term opportunities for systemic change. Annie’s efforts empower children to develop critical financial skills, build confidence, and envision a brighter, more equitable future.
