Cute has witnessed the denial of children’s rights towards her peers and herself. Cute has used this as motivation to speak out on issues which affect girls and boys in her community. She is part of Youth Media, a project at her school. She has spoken out on issues such as lack of affordable sanitary products, unequal access to online education and the abuse of young girls at borehole water points. She also created a school club which provides a weekly verbal news bulletin to all students and teachers each Monday. Here, she addresses a whole range of taboo topics. Cute has even undertaken her own research where she discovered 9 out of 10 girls in her community could not afford sanitary pads. She writes about these issues on Facebook where she has many followers. Her work has attracted the attention of the Secretary General of the UN and Terres des Hommes.
