All 2025 Children’s Peace Prize Nominees

At just 12 years old, when her younger brother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, Divaa  witnessed the life-threatening challenges faced by thousands of children across India. Determined to change this, she founded Project Surya, which has grown into one of India’s largest youth-led health advocacy movements. Through it, she has fought to make insulin affordable and accessible, educated tens of thousands on diabetes awareness, and built a global network of young leaders championing health equity. From petitioning the government to organizing mass awareness events like the Midnight Marathon, Divaa has become a powerful voice for children’s right to healthcare.

Her impact has reached far and wide. She has taught nearly 20,000 students about diabetes, provided life-saving resources to thousands of underprivileged children, and trained rural health workers to improve early detection. Her initiatives have reached over 49,000 people through village detection camps, while her advocacy clubs now operate in 10 states of India and abroad. Online, her podcasts and social media campaigns have gained millions of views, amplifying her mission globally. Through resilience, innovation, and compassion, Divaa is transforming healthcare access into a right, not a privilege.
