Emma was taken in by SOS Children’s Villages Peru when she was 16 years old as a protective measure. She is currently enrolled in secondary school in Peru. Emma is a member of the Ombudsman’s Office’s Consultative Council of Children and Adolescents, a council that participates in the formulation of public policies. Aside from her duties in this council, she is also an active member of the Network of Leaders of Residential Reception Centers in Junín. In her capacity in the council, she has participated in various workshops related to the Convention of Children’s Rights and met with various authorities. Additionally, she is a leader in the village, organizing social aid programs, activities and Christmas celebrations alongside other adolescents. She is also very talented in motivating her peers to work with her for the community.
