What started as a lone school strike on Friday August 20th 2018, has grown into the worldwide movement Fridays for Future. Greta Thunberg from Sweden, 16 years old, has mobilized over 1.4 million children, across all regions of the world, to follow her example and strike for climate justice and the living planet. Greta’s message to the world is simple: everyone is always talking about the climate, but nobody is doing anything. She invites people to “share her panic,” and to take action. She has also, together with 15 others, filed a lawsuit against 5 high carbon polluting countries, for violating the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Greta inspires children and adults alike; she speaks to politicians and world leaders, joins youth meetings and she has over one million followers on her social media.
