Shafeekath is a young girl studying in 4th grade. Living in north Benin, she realized that children in that area have many problems in relation to their rights. She advocated for respecting children’s rights during elections in April 2019. She participated in a caravan for the equality of girls and the fight against early pregnancies in Atacora. On that occasion, Shafeekath read a plea to promote girls rights for children. Due to her actions, the local authorities became interested in children’s rights in Natitingou. The local government now consults Shafeekath for the actions they want to take for children. She also organized a competition named ‘Noël, Droit des Enfants’ (Christmas, Rights of Children) to promote children rights. She plans to continue educating children on their rights.
