Heera is a 14-year-old girl, enrolled in the 8th grade and living with her parents in Pakistan. She comes from a lineage of human rights activists; her father founded the Child Rights Committee (CRC) and her mother lectures in a Government College and is the Secretary General of a local organization which is dedicated to the development of women. This sparked Heera’s interest in human rights. She is actively involved in the work of the CRC and is active in her school and in the community. She has received multiple awards for her work, both academically and related to her role as an activist. She has organized and led multiple events benefitting children’s rights, also using her platform to speak publicly. She has been able to reach a wide variety of media platforms, locally and internationally. She has saved five children from child labour and enrolled them in schools.
