Kaileth Zarela Gomez Ascanio, a 17-year-old from Colombia, has demonstrated remarkable dedication to environmental protection and child advocacy amid severe regional challenges. Growing up in an area affected by armed conflict and instability, Kaileth has led community awareness campaigns on children’s rights, environmental conservation, and the importance of peaceful living. Over four years, she has driven 40 child-led initiatives and engaged in approximately 100 face-to-face meetings to promote environmental care and safety. Her efforts in building impactful public policies for Norte de Santander reflect her commitment to a sustainable future for her community’s children.
