Keren has been an activist regarding development challenges of children in Democratic Republic of Congo for several years. She especially helps girls realize their potential when they are deprived of education, health and basic rights. Keren empowered girls by educating them on puberty and sanitation. Not only that she donated sanitary towels, which motivated them to stay in school, but she boosted the confidence of 450 girls and this led to increased school attendance and academic performance. In addition, public health was improved, stigma was reduced, and the cycle of poverty was broken. Within her community, Keren goes out of her way to help vulnerable children and young people by organizing workshops and campaigns for the promotion of children’s rights.
