Inspired by her close relationship with a family member who has Down Syndrome, Mariana recognized the benefits of sports like tennis in enhancing physical and social skills. Observing a lack of accessible sports programs for children with Down Syndrome in her city, and the financial constraints faced by many families, she initiated the project ‘Ace Up.’ This program provides free tennis training to children and teenagers with Down Syndrome, fostering not only their physical abilities but also their self-esteem. With over 35 active participants and enthusiastic volunteers, Mariana’s initiative has made significant social impacts, earning her the “Premio Estatal de la Juventud y el Deporte 2022.”
