Md Sadat is a young changemaker and social innovator from Bangladesh. The death of a15-year-old girl by suicide because of cyberbullying in his country made Md. Sadat take direct action in this regard. Together with his friends he set up a social organization called Narail Volunteers and received an ‘innovation fund’ as a winner of the ‘Youth Innovation Challenge 2019’ organized by Action Aid Bangladesh. With the fund received they created the ‘Cyber Teens’ mobile app where teenagers can learn how to be safe in the internet world, the existing law in the country (like the Digital Security Act of Bangladesh), and they get Blog/Internet Safety Tips. About 1,800 teenagers have been using the app, more than 60+ complaints have been solved and 8 cyber criminals have been brought to justice through the app. Sadat received the national award ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award 2018’ on behalf of his organization for his outstanding contribution to social work. Currently, Sadat has designed a campaign called ‘Safe Internet, Safe Teenager’. Together with his team, he is organizing ‘e-safety seminars & workshops with teenagers and working to create a digital literacy club in every school. In the future, he wants to develop the app further with the support of the Government of Bangladesh and add the facility to provide psycho-social support through psychologists.
