Micaela’s journey as an activist began in the highlands of Peru where she faced discrimination due to her immigrant background. She stood up for the rights of young immigrants and fought for education, reduction of inequalities, preservation of native languages, and other causes. Micaela was deeply moved when she learned about the challenges faced by children in Peru during the pandemic. She founded Mica Educa, a non-profit organization that leverages the power of culture and technology to address this urgent need. Through her organization, she aims to help students catch up on missed school subjects, and inspire a new generation of leaders who can drive positive change in their communities.
