Nouriatu Leinyuy Mayenin, focuses on addressing menstrual health concerns amidst the Anglophone crisis. Experiencing firsthand the challenges of managing menstruation in a conflict zone, Mayenin founded Girls in Science and Technology (GIST) to support her peers academically. Her research on the impact of menstruation on girls’ education led to the creation of Lady’s Pride, a movement aimed at empowering young girls to manage their periods with confidence and dignity.

Through advocacy and a digital platform, Lady’s Pride has notably improved girls’ self-esteem and classroom participation from 40% to 80%. Mayenin’s work addresses menstrual health challenges while fostering resilience and empowerment among young girls in Cameroon.
