Rubaiya was engaged in different awareness and child leadership activities that motivated her to work for the protection of children. She is a social activist by nature. Rubaiya is the chairman of Budhata Union Child Forum and working to reduce child related violence in her locality. She has guided and motivated 3900 children with her leadership. She also launched the ‘It Takes Me’ campaign under the Budhata Union banner. Her efforts in advocacy for child protection, corporal punishment and child budget issues led to positive outcomes. Due to her actions, punishment against children was reduced in schools, homes and workplace of Assasuni Upazila; Budhata UP chairman was compelled to allocate 7% of UP budget to children; community led monitoring is being conducted on a regular basis; child marriage was reduced and children and the community have become more aware about child protection issues. In the future, Rubaiya wants to make the Child Forum a registered child organization and continue fighting for children safety and assist to grow more child leaders in her community.
