In 2020, Sakshi became the National Minister for Peace and Justice of NICP (National Inclusive Children’s Parliament). She immediately made a call to the Superintendent of her local Police division to take appropriate actions against sexual abuse and to ensure the safety of the girl victims. Sakshi is also the spokesperson of the children’s club. Sakshi’s “Teach child Teach Darjeeling” campaign focusses on helping children regarding their education. More than 100 children benefitted in education with her regular peer-to-peer education classes, as part of this campaign. Sakshi also convinced the tea garden in her community to no longer employ children.
