Sameer

Nominated by Search for Justice (Children Advocacy Network Pakistan)

All 2019 Children’s Peace Prize Nominees

Sameer was born and raised in Lahore, a large city in Pakistan, where he is now attending the 8th grade. Unfortunately, he has been the witness of child abuse, violence and exploitation. Witnessing this has motivated him to stand up for children’s rights. He became a member of the Search For Justice – Children Advocacy Network in 2014. Here he has been a member of the children’s advisory team and participated in the Day of General Discussion in Geneva in 2018. He has also lobbied in the Pakistani parliament to ensure the correct implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. He works hard to bring children into decision making. His priority is to implement laws which protect children against violence. His greatest achievement was lobbying for the implementation of the “National Commissions of the Rights for Children Act”, which, at first, was predicted not to pass.
