Nihal is a 13-year-old schoolboy from Edison, New Jersey, USA. Since 2019, he has been working as an environmental campaigner and the leader of the non-profit organization Recycle My Battery. The organization is focused on promoting and facilitating battery recycling to tackle the impact of the 15 billion batteries thrown in the trash every year.
Nihal has had a strong commitment to empowering and mobilizing young people. The organization is entirely run by volunteer schoolchildren, with more than 350 kids now working as members of the global network. Recycle My Battery now operates across the US and in several other countries worldwide. Nihal continues to lead the organization. He has the long-term goal of reducing the 15 billion batteries thrown in the trash to zero and inspiring young people around the world to become changemakers.
