Stacey is a literacy activist. At a tender age of 7 Stacey wrote her first book with the intention to use it to teach people how to read and write. She extended her work by starting ‘A Book A Child Campaign’ at the age of 9. In 2016 she formed The Stacey Fru Foundation to empower and encourage children to read and write in a safe and secured environment. Under her foundation, Stacey now runs many initiatives that aim to elevate the African child and she has reached many countries in Africa, Europe and Asia. Stacey runs several campaigns under this banner including the ‘AfrICANn Book A Child Campaign’, with the aim to collect and distribute books, and the ‘Safety and Security Campaign for Children by a Child’ where she encourages safe and secure environments that enable literacy. Stacey has written a book titled ‘Where is Tammy?’ to educate children and adults on the dangers and ease of child kidnapping and abduction. She hosts the ‘Annual African Children of the Year Awards’ celebration on every Universal Children’s Day. In the future, she wants to search for platforms that would ease her intentions to take her campaign on Literacy, Safety and Security for children to global stages and bodies. She pictures herself expanding her projects and reach.
