Suraj was in primary school when he had to drop out and start going to work due to poverty. When Suraj became the member of Children’s Parliament of Caritas India in his village, his parents were convinced by facilitators to enrol him in school again. Suraj is raising awareness against child labour and to let other children in his village continue studying rather than going to work. Suraj also made sure that girls do not have to miss school during their menstrual cycles, which has also increased school attendance.
