Szonja, a 17-year-old from Hungary, is a dedicated advocate for children’s rights and youth participation. As a Kid Colleague at the Hintalovon Child Rights Foundation, she has used her voice to educate adults—including police officers, educators, and journalists—on child-friendly communication and bullying prevention. Despite living with a chronic illness, she actively participates in conferences, panel discussions, podcasts, and media appearances, sharing her insights on digital safety, civil courage, and empowering young people to speak up for themselves.

Through her journalism, campaign work, and contributions to awareness initiatives, Szonja has influenced both national and regional child protection practices. Her articles and direct quotes appear in annual children’s rights reports and media platforms, inspiring youth in Hungary and beyond. Recognized internationally, including with the Young Courage Award 2024, Szonja continues to promote tolerance, participation, and children’s empowerment, ensuring that young voices are central to decisions that affect their lives.
