Victoria

Nominated by Nicole Greenwood

All 2025 Children’s Peace Prize Nominees

At just 12 years old, Victoria began using dance as a tool to address youth mental health and suicide in Canada’s northern Indigenous communities, where rates are up to 33 times higher than the national average. Recognizing the isolation and lack of access to arts and sports in the Arctic, she founded the Indigenous Dance Foundation, bringing free programs that build confidence, self-expression, and well-being for children. Victoria has partnered with organizations, governments, and companies to break barriers caused by remoteness, raising more than $12,000 in funding and delivering opportunities to hundreds of children. Her leadership extends beyond dance: she has spoken at national conferences, advised the RCMP and PHE Canada, and served as an ambassador for Honouring Indigenous Peoples, ensuring children’s voices and Indigenous perspectives shape policies nationwide.

Through her programs and advocacy, Victoria has directly impacted over 6,000 people and inspired thousands more online. Her work includes mentorship programs for girls in STEM, national conversations on reconciliation and gender equality, and public events that educate and unite communities. By combining creativity, advocacy, and collaboration, Victoria is empowering Indigenous youth and ensuring every child has the right to play, create, and thrive.
