Whitney was born in Mathare Slums, Kenya. In 2017, Whitney was elected children representative within the Mathare Foundation. During her time as children representative, 100 children were supported with full and partial scholarship to attend primary and secondary schools and 500 young people obtained a source of income through Whitney’s various projects. She participated in peace-related projects with Mathare Foundation such as ‘Raising Voices’, whose objective was to reduce youth radicalization in Mathare slums through photography. Through this, peace was promoted among hundreds of thousands of Mathare slums dwellers. In the future, Whitney plans to make Mathare Foundation self-sustainable in order to be able to impact the lives of millions of children globally.
