What Is Kids Rights in Action Week?
Kids Rights in Action Week is a free, ready-to-go programme for primary schools designed to help pupils learn about:
- The Right to Education
- The Right to Play
- The Right to Be Heard
- The Right to Safety
- The Right to a Healthy Life
Each right is linked to an exciting challenge that brings it to life — from Sponsored Reads and kindness led tournaments to pupil voice poster campaigns, Safety Detective missions and Move-A-Thons.
The week is designed to be super easy for teachers, engaging for pupils, and effortless for families. All participating schools receive a full digital pack, including an assembly, worksheets, posters, and communications.
Why It Matters
Children’s rights are universal but understanding them isn’t always easy.
This week helps pupils learn:
- what their rights are
- how to stand up for themselves and others
- how fairness, respect and safety shape their daily lives
- how their voices can make a difference
Through the campaign, children also learn that they themselves can be changemakers, taking small actions that help support other young people across the UK and beyond.
How Schools Can Take Part
Schools can join in however works best for them, whether that’s choosing one challenge for the whole week, trying a different right each day, or exploring the activities by year group or class.
Once registered via SuperKind, schools receive instant access to:
- The full Kids Rights in Action Week Pack
- A 10-minute launch assembly
- Pupil worksheets for all 5 rights
- Editable posters
- Teacher checklist
- Parent & staff email templates

Fundraising to Support Children Across the UK
Alongside the learning activities, schools can choose to fundraise for KidsRights UK, supporting our work to empower young people, champion children’s rights, and grow youth-led changemaker programmes across the country and beyond.
Our fundraising is delivered in partnership with SuperKind, the UK’s only platform where children can safely lead their own fundraising pages.
Every pound raised helps us reach more children with rights education, youth leadership opportunities and programmes that elevate children’s voices in their communities.
