Abdulqadir (16) and Abdulmuiid (17), from Nigeria, have transformed the hardships of growing up during the Boko Haram insurgency into a powerful platform for children’s rights and education. As members of their state’s children’s parliament and Blub World Teen Parliament, they advocate directly with leaders to push for policies that protect children and amplify their voices. Together, they co-founded the Cross Country Poetry Celebration, an annual event featuring workshops, debates, and poetry slams that promote creativity while prioritizing girls and children with disabilities. They also host weekly radio programs and lead campaigns that raise awareness about education and child protection. With the support of mentors, teachers, and community leaders, their initiatives have reached thousands both online and offline, ensuring that children in their communities are given opportunities to learn, participate, and thrive.
