All 2025 Children’s Peace Prize Nominees

Arifa, a 16-year-old from Bangladesh, is a passionate advocate for education, children’s rights, and girls’ empowerment. Growing up in a middle-class family, she witnessed the challenges faced by children, especially girls, who are often denied access to education. Motivated by these experiences, Arifa has focused on promoting literacy, STEM education, and environmental awareness. She has participated in international competitions, learned coding, and contributed to creative educational initiatives, including writing poems and articles for school publications. Her involvement with the Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF) and other organizations has strengthened her advocacy skills, allowing her to mentor younger volunteers and inspire children to pursue learning and leadership.

Arifa’s impact spans both online and offline efforts. Through social media, her reading circles reached over 10,000 people, while her Technovation Challenge participation promoted girls’ involvement in STEM to more than 1,000 viewers. Offline, she contributed to the Zakat Campaign, providing books and school supplies to hundreds of children, led clothing and medicine donation drives benefiting over 700 people, and supported sustainability projects that educated communities about environmental responsibility. By combining advocacy, mentorship, and community service, Arifa empowers children to access education, embrace learning, and create positive change in their communities.
