All 2025 Children’s Peace Prize Nominees

Hitomi has turned her passion for drawing, animation, and storytelling into a powerful tool for change. Motivated by witnessing bullying, discrimination, and the silencing of children—especially girls—Hitomi creates comics, animated videos, and illustrated stories that promote empathy, emotional resilience, and gender equality. Through her work, she encourages children to speak up, value diversity, and recognize their own power as changemakers. Supported by her mother and mentors at MUVAL Mujeres Valiosas, Hitomi’s creativity and dedication are nurtured in a space that treats her as a true advocate, helping her develop both confidence and leadership skills.

Her initiatives reach children both online and offline. Hitomi has conducted workshops for 200+ children, helping them express their rights and emotions through comics, while her digital content sparks discussion on bullying and gender stereotypes among wider audiences. By integrating art, storytelling, and activism, Hitomi creates safe spaces for children to be seen and heard, inspiring peers to challenge injustice and cultivate empathy. Even at 14, she demonstrates that age is no barrier to meaningful social impact.
