Illia, Kira, Sasha, and Ivan are survivors of abduction by the Russian Federation who, unlike thousands of other Ukrainian children still missing, were able to return home. Together they became the voices of “Stolen Voices,” an international campaign launched in The Hague to raise awareness of war crimes committed against children in Ukraine. Speaking at the UN, OSCE, and international conferences from Riga to Buenos Aires, they share their personal stories to ensure the world cannot ignore the deportation and forced displacement of Ukrainian children. Their courage has turned trauma into advocacy, calling for justice and stronger protections for children in conflict.
Through their campaign, the four have influenced governments and organizations worldwide, with Chile joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children after their visit. They have spoken in parliaments, schools, and rallies—including a demonstration in Prague with over 40,000 people—mobilizing global solidarity for abducted children. Supported by NGOs, embassies, and President Zelenskyy’s “Bring Kids Back UA” plan, Illia, Kira, Sasha, and Ivan are uniting their voices to demand that every Ukrainian child be returned home and that no child anywhere suffers the same fate.
