All 2025 Children’s Peace Prize Nominees

Jawad, a 16-year-old from Afghanistan, advocates for children’s rights in a challenging environment where many face child labor, early marriage, and limited access to education. Drawing from his own experiences of hardship, Jawad works to ensure that children, especially those from poor and rural communities, can attend school and pursue a better future. With support from his family, local teachers, and his uncle abroad, he raises awareness about the importance of education and the harms of early marriage.

Through personal engagement and grassroots outreach, Jawad has provided school supplies, convinced families to prioritize education over work, and prevented early marriages in several cases. Despite limited digital access and security risks, he has reached children and families directly in his community, fostering opportunities for learning and personal development. Jawad’s dedication empowers Afghan children to access education and builds hope for a brighter future despite the obstacles they face.
