Jayda, 15, from Trinidad & Tobago, is a passionate advocate for children’s rights and environmental sustainability. Growing up in a rural community and witnessing the struggles of refugee and migrant Venezuelan children, Jayda has dedicated herself to empowering young people to claim their rights. She has launched campaigns like #myadvocacythroughart and LetsJoinHandsAndGoGreen, created eco-awareness videos, led beach clean-ups, and developed interactive educational games. She founded Jayda’s Little Lending Libraries and the Learn to Love Literacy Campaign, promoting reading and literacy for underprivileged children, while also donating books, clothes, and toys to those in need.
Jayda’s initiatives have reached thousands both online and offline. Her VOW360 Facebook Lives reach over 1,000 followers and her advocacy posts engage 35,000–50,000 people, while her ECOSTEPS TT environmental booths and school lectures have reached over 5,000 attendees. She mentors children through clubs like The Voice of Youth and Debate Club, inspires action on climate, child protection, and literacy, and serves as a Renewable Energy Youth Ambassador, combining community service, sustainability, and youth empowerment into a holistic impact.
