Murshid, a 17-year-old Rohingya youth activist from Myanmar, has turned his experiences of displacement and lack of access to education into a platform for change. Growing up in Cox’s Bazar refugee camp, he witnessed the hardships faced by thousands of Rohingya children. Determined to make a difference, Murshid established informal learning centers, taught hundreds of children, and organized workshops on child protection, addressing issues such as child labor, trafficking, and early marriage.
As a leader of the Rohingya Youth Union, Murshid empowers youth through forums, patrol teams, and advocacy campaigns, inspiring children to speak out for their rights. His efforts have reached over 5,000 people online and engaged more than 1,500 children and families offline. Guided by mentors and supported by humanitarian organizations, Murshid continues to champion education, child protection, and gender equality, creating lasting change in his community and giving marginalized children hope for a brighter future.
