Nulara, a 14-year-old from Sri Lanka, is inspiring children to care for the planet and their communities. Once a shy, reserved child, Nulara found her voice through public speaking and drama, and now channels her confidence into environmental advocacy and children’s rights. She founded initiatives like the Kids Environmentalist Program and Kids Tree Planting Program, teaching children to reduce waste, recycle, plant trees, and adopt sustainable habits. Her programs also emphasize kindness, cooperation, and the importance of protecting both people and the planet.
Nulara’s work reaches far beyond her local community. She has engaged over 22,000 scouts and guides, delivered speeches to environmental leaders, and raised awareness through newspapers, posters, and school campaigns reaching hundreds of thousands of children. Supported by her family, teachers, and organizations like UNICEF and the Central Environmental Authority, Nulara is shaping a generation of environmentally conscious and socially responsible young changemakers.
