Sahaba, a 14-year-old from Afghanistan, has become a fearless defender of girls’ and women’s rights under the Taliban regime. In just months, she taught herself English and Arabic, determined to show that Afghan girls can lead. Through TV appearances and social media campaigns, Sahaba has questioned Taliban leaders directly and spoken out against forced displacement of Afghan refugees in Iran. Her voice has reached more than 100,000 people online and 10,000 offline, inspiring Afghan children and women to stand up for their rights and envision a future where they can lead their country.
