Sofia has emerged as a committed advocate for Filipino children, particularly those facing poverty, neglect, and limited opportunities. From a young age, she witnessed systemic injustices affecting children in marginalized communities and resolved to amplify their voices. Supported by her family, mentors, and organizations like UNICEF and Save the Children, Michiko has developed leadership and advocacy skills, allowing her to represent Filipino youth at regional forums, shape national policies, and contribute to campaigns that strengthen child protection and participation.

Through her work, Michiko has impacted thousands of children offline and reached wider audiences online, participating in over 30 seminars, consultations, and workshops, and engaging in campaigns that influence both local and regional policies. As a delegate to ASEAN children’s forums, contributor to the Filipino Children’s Manifesto, and active U-Reporter for UNICEF, she empowers young people to speak up for their rights while advocating for inclusive, child-centered policies. Michiko’s leadership unites advocacy, education, and action to ensure children in the Philippines can thrive safely and confidently.
