Yamikani Shammah Marasha

The future belongs to us the children, let us take responsibility to shape our future Say No to Drugs.

Yamikani Shammah Marasha (12), is from Zimbabwe. Yamikani is a multi-talented, self-motivated young woman whose journey began at age 10, when she traveled to rural Zimbabwe and saw children walking miles to school barefoot, along with child-headed families with no blankets to keep warm. These images stayed with her and sparked a lifelong commitment to helping others.

Yamikani has conducted charity outreaches in remote Zimbabwean schools, spreading her #NoToDrugs message against substance abuse. Through her “100 Pairs for 100 SMILES” campaign, she has donated school shoes to children in need, believing each pair represents power, hope, and confidence for a child’s journey to school. She also runs “Period Power to Every Girl,” donating sanitary pads to girls in rural areas while educating them on hygiene and speaking out against the bullying of girls who’ve started their periods.

With support from her parents, family, friends, and modeling brands she works with, Yamikani has reached over 1,000 people through her school outreaches—schools with 500+ children, along with their parents and staff—turning small acts of generosity into real, lasting impact for Zimbabwean children.
