G M Tanzim Riyadh

“Children have the right to grow up safe, healthy, and educated. We must all work together to protect their rights, prevent violence, and ensure equality for every child.”

G M Tanzim Riyadh (13), is from Bangladesh. Riyadh’s journey started with a single word in a newspaper: “children’s rights.” That small spark of curiosity led him to learn more from his family, teachers, and social media, and gradually, that knowledge grew into a mission. As an eighth-grader, he decided he wouldn’t just learn about children’s rights, he’d fight for them.

Riyadh began raising awareness about children’s rights within his family, his community, and beyond. Along the way, he faced criticism and negative comments from people who doubted a young student could make a difference. But he refused to be discouraged, leaning on his family’s constant support to stay focused and keep going.

Through sheer persistence, Riyadh has inspired others in his community to join the cause and has helped bring real attention to children’s rights issues that often go unnoticed. His story shows that meaningful change doesn’t always start with a big moment, sometimes it starts with curiosity, a supportive family, and the courage to keep going even when others doubt you.
