Allison Cerron

Allison Cerron (16), is from the United States. As the daughter of immigrant parents, Allison Cerron saw how climate change and sustainability can be overlooked in underrepresented communities, where sustainable choices can feel out of reach. She wanted to make environmental action practical, accessible and engaging for young people.

In middle school, Allison led a sustainability class built around the idea “Nothing Goes to Waste.” Through creative projects, including making ice cream from common food items, she helped students understand food waste and resourcefulness. She also co-led a “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” campaign at school, encouraging students to replace single-use items with more sustainable alternatives.

Allison has continued to inspire action through workshops and events, where she provides starter kits to help people adopt more eco-friendly habits. Her projects have engaged dozens of students and encouraged others to organize sustainability workshops of their own. With support from teachers and peers, Allison is showing how small, practical actions can make sustainability part of everyday life.
