“Every child, no matter where they live, deserves access to education, digital skills, and a voice to shape their future.”

Bikash Kadayat

Bikash Kadayat (17), is from Nepal. Growing up in rural Nepal, Bikash saw how many children struggled without access to computers, internet, or basic digital skills, and rarely learned about their own rights. Watching his peers miss out on opportunities he dreamed of for himself, Bikash decided every child deserved the same chance at knowledge and respect, no matter where they lived.

He started a digital literacy program teaching basic computer skills, internet safety, and responsible social media use to children in his community. He organized workshops on children’s rights, helping peers understand their right to education, participation, and protection, and created a peer-support group where children could share challenges around school and technology access. He also partnered with local schools and organizations to provide books, learning materials, and basic digital devices.

The impact has reached over 500 children, parents, and educators across the region through his hands-on workshops at two local schools, spanning students from Grade 1 to Grade 12. With strong support from his family, teachers, and community, Bikash is helping bridge the digital divide, one lesson at a time, so rural children aren’t left behind in an increasingly connected world.
