Abijuru Ange Aline
Children are not only future leaders but partners today

Abijuru Ange Aline (15), is from Rwanda. Growing up in Kigali, Abijuru Ange Aline saw that many children did not know their rights or feel able to share their concerns with adults. She turned that gap into action, leading a grassroots peer group where children learn about their rights and speak up for others.
Ange organizes child-led awareness sessions on children’s rights and environmental responsibility, reaching children and community members in Kigali. She also brings young people together through tree-planting activities that promote environmental protection and sustainability.
Her work has reached beyond her community. Ange took part in a national consultation and represented young people at a Climate Summit in Addis Ababa, where she presented recommendations to policymakers and environmental leaders. Her activities have also reached more than 500 people through social media, showing how a young voice from Kigali can spark action far beyond her own community..
