Debadrita Sarkar

" Let our world be for everyone not for only human but for trees, animals and rivers too ! Let our world be without stereotypes and depression. Let everyone live well with honestly and humanity again"

Debadrita Sarkar

Debadrita Sarkar (17), is from India. Debadrita is a writer, poet, and advocate whose inspiration came close to home: her tuition teacher’s daughter, who is differently abled and unable to walk. Moved by her strength, Debadrita picked up her pen to make sure the world saw what she saw — that differently abled people deserve more than sympathy, they deserve recognition for what they can achieve.

She wrote “Becoming A Para Athlete” to champion para athletes and spread the message that specially abled children can change the world too. She curated “Kids Right Blog” to advocate for children’s rights and build a mindset of peace among young readers. Her advocacy didn’t stop there: she wrote “IN SEARCH OF THE CURE,” published by Bribooks, to raise awareness about arsenicosis and the dangers of arsenic pollution, and started another blog, “Finding Her Voice,” focused on environmental protection.

Through her books and blogs, Debadrita is using storytelling as a tool for change, giving voice to differently abled children, environmental causes, and the fight for children’s rights, one page at a time.
