John Narat
"John and international children possess all the power to benefit from our rights''

Jhon Narat (16), is from Haiti. Jhon has seen how poverty, exclusion and violence put children’s rights at risk. Watching friends leave school for work or be recruited into gangs pushed him to take action. His mission: help every child in his community understand their rights.
For child protection, Jhon created a peer-led information project to identify and report signs of danger. With support from teachers and civil rights activists, he formed “Security Groups” that helped more than 40 children understand their safety rights and connect with regional support networks. To keep children in school, he also started “Scholarship Unity” and organized four educational programs, reaching more than 250 children and 50 guardians.
Jhon’s message is reaching even further. A video promoting youth participation in local leadership received more than 15,100 views on Facebook and Instagram, sparking discussion among teenagers across Haiti. His youth group chat now connects 125 active participants who share peer-to-peer protection strategies.
